Into the Badlands...

Ugh... My armour looks like crap and I hate this place.

I've come down to Kargath, an outpost in the middle of a special no-where called the "Badlands". Fiendhammer told me he saw some firebloom down here and that's what I need so I'm here. Yes, It's unusual to find a warrior that dabbles in herbs and alchemy, but I have a talent for it. Maybe it's a part of my former life but I don't remember it. When I try, I see a grey veil.

As part of my trek to this barren land, I hit the auction house in the UnderCity for some new armour. My old stuff was beaten and worn from my time in the Swamp of Sorrows. Trying to help the orcs at Stonard. Another outpost in the middle of no-where. I'll ask Fiendhammer why Orcs make it a point to take over useless places in swamps and deserts. My new armour though is peiced together from various bargin bins and what I could afford so it all looks mismatched and weird. If I had to breath I know I'd never be using this helm b/c it's totally suffocating.

Pics of me in Kargath

Anyway I'll let you know how it all turns out in this barren desert land.

Finding Home

When I was alive, before the army of the Scourge mutilated my body and soul turning me into a thoughtless flesh-eater and the undead of the Forsaken freed me from that life of mindless brain-eating, I was a herder of cattle. I had two thousand stock and a prosperous ranch. My wife was just beginning to show with our third child. My two boys were young and strong and I was the proud parent. I would ride the range checking my stock, driving back wolves and the occasional other predator. The sun was at my back the wind was brisk and there was no tomorrow, only the pleasant knowledge of a a future for my family growing stronger...

That was ripped from me by the war... I have spent my time wandering the earth since my new un-life, and I believe I was always searching for my home. My previous home was burnt & ruined by the scourge and I don't even want to go back. My heart would break seeing the burned out shell of what I had.

...and now I have come to Nagrand in the Outlands. Through a portal to a burning fiery shore, full of war and turmoil, demons trying the break through the gate and a sparse desolate land. From there to a swamp filled with giant mushrooms and a musky spore-laden stench of rot and decay. I came through all, to Nagrand, and I don't want to leave.

There are vast fields dotted with trees and lakes. Giant Clef-hoof Bulls and the deer-like Talabuk roam wild on the plains. I see vast plains, feel the sun on my back and believe I am finished looking for home.

Yeti's Suck...

So I traveled to a place called WinterSpring. It's frozen forested area, but with hotsprings all around, it supports an abundance of life, including Yeti's.

I was hired by a goblin in Everlook (a goblin founded city like Gadgestan in Tanaris) to get some Thick Yeti Hides from the Ice Thistle Yeti's just south of the city.

I found the Yeti's and their cave and I killed Yeti's...

and I killed more yeti's...

and I killed more yeti's...

and I kept killing, running out of food and bandages and sharpening stones, but only getting 3 yeti hides after killing approximately 70 yeti's. I had to check but it turns out the yeti hides only come off the very basic yeti's an I was killing the higher level Matriarch and Patriarch Yeti's. I was pissed. An hour wasted, because yeti's usually only have a few silver coins on them. I did find two thorium veins for mining in the cavern, but other than that it was a big ass waste of time...

After going back to the lower level yeti's it took me 15 mins to get the yeti hides.

And then the damn goblin sent me back to get perfect yeti horns from those same matriarchs and patriarchs that I'd been killing for the past hour with not much to show for it.

Eventually it all turned out OK, the goblin gave me a slightly used mechanical yeti to keep. I don't think it will last very long, but it's cute and tough in a fight.

I got stronger just before going on this mission (ding 57). After part one of the quest chain and an hour of killing yeti's , I was 1/3 of the way to 58, just by killing yeti's... damn yeti's

Teremus the Devourer

Working in the Blasted Lands can be scary....
Teremus the Devourer a Dragon roams the land

If it's not that it's cultists...
An evil cultist comes to play

There is nothing good in the Blasted Lands, Cultists, Dragons, and foul beasts roam the land. The boars radiate burning fire and the basilisks freeze you in their terrible stare. In the southern part of the area lies the Dark Portal, demon guards roam around the outside of it, but horde forces control the portal itself for now. Once I am strong enough I too will travel the portal to the Outlands for the honor of the Horde.

Meet Graveside

Hi All, I met this Orc, Fiendhammer and he seems pretty nice, so I'm helping him out by adding to his blog thing. I'm just another dead girl fighting furiously for a place in the world.
Me at the top on one of the "Thousand Needles"...
Me at Thousand Needles

These days, I'm spending time in Thousand Needles helping out the local Tauren at FreeWind Post. There are a good number of centaur here. Which is ok, they drop a lot of silk & wool cloth bits so I can make good bandages and sell the spare.

There is a group of Tauren that have gone bad here as well. They call themselves the Grimtotem and are located at the top of Darkcloud Pinnacle. Darkcloud Pinnacle is at the top of several of the mesa's connected via rope bridges. There are shammans-type tauren and various fighter types. The biggest annoyance is when several of them get together, the shamman type usually casts a healing totem and you have that healing the fighter types.

The reason you actually want to head up there is that Arnak Grimtotem, the leader of the Grimtotem Clan, is up there. There's a reward for his head! Take a friend, he's got two guards with him.

Stupid Orcs

mounted for attack
My friend Fiendhammer has asked me to help his pathetic ass once again. As a mighty undead warlock I represent the power of the nether and the glory of the Forsaken, and he asks me to "blog" about it, how disgusting.

I say help his pathetic ass, because just recently I changed skills from Enchanting and Tailoring to Mining and Skinning. I make more money this way and will help his ass in making armour and weapons. I don't mind too much though, I get to revisit old places in learning to skill and mine better and better. I'll get back to the Outlands soon. I am helping the fools in Thrallmar and hitting on the pretty blood-elves. Wanna see my bones baby? Hehehehe...

Hunting for Iron

Hi All, I spent a large part of the past week working on getting my weapon smithing quest done. It took about 4 days of regular play time. I'm also working on getting Thorium Brotherhood faction. So I'm digging up iron ore whereever I can. Tanaris was good for mithril, but usually it's around the edges so I'm running around it a lot.

It gives a nice view of the seashore:
Shoreline of Tanaris desert

I also ended up near Stonard Keep (a continent away from Tanaris) mining in a cave on the southern edge of the map. The cave is full of Murlocs, which kept me busy fighting them off while hunting minerals.

East of Stonard at Sunset...

I hitting a 300 skill in mining in the Hinterlands, I would have celebrated, but I needed 40 more iron ore and I have only been mining thorium ore...
